The Haddington Business Association aims are to further advance the financial viability of the town, to secure and improve the trading and commercial interests of Haddington, and to promote the attributes of Haddington as a visitor and venue destination. The HBA’s membership is diverse consisting of independent businesses, franchise, multiple retailers, licensed premises and eateries.
As a group they network with other bodies such as East Lothian Council, Haddington Community Council, H.A.D.A.S., and Haddington Farmers Market to develop joint strategies such as marketing and town centre improvements. Whatever the outcome of the current out of town retail development planning applications, the Haddington Businesses Association recognises that the historic, county town of Haddington, has to survive in 2011 and beyond. It is the uniqueness of the businesses within the town that make Haddington a desired place to visit and shop.
In the past year, the H.B.A has set up this web site, and a brochure that will be distributed throughout the Country promoting the town’s attractions and shopping, this is due out in the spring. The H.B.A. is also represented on the Haddington Town Centre Advisory Group and on H.A.D.A.S.
